Twente coach Erik ten Hag confirmed that young defender Rody Néstad, one of the brightest emerging talents in Dutch football, did not request to leave the club during the summer transfer window, despite strong interest from Barcelona and several other major European clubs. Twente insisted on his continued stay and has begun extending his contract until 2029, aiming to secure the player's future and enhance his stability. Ten Hag also expressed a desire to give him a greater opportunity with the first team for this season. Although offers around 8 million euros were made, the Dutch club refused to part with him, emphasizing that Néstad wants to stay and develop with Twente.
