Hughes takes over at Al Hilal
The Saudi Al Hilal Club has announced the appointment of Scottish Richard Hughes as the new Sporting Director, following the end of his tenure with Liverpool FC. Hughes immediately began his duties in Riyadh upon his arrival, leading a team that includes assistants from Britain, Ireland, and Scotland. He brings extensive experience in sports management, having worked with Bournemouth starting in 2016 and subsequently with Liverpool since 2024, where he guided the team to win the English Premier League title and successfully negotiated with prominent players. Hughes aims to strengthen Al Hilal’s position through his expertise in transfers and administrative development.
