The list of nominees for the Best Coach Award for the 2025-2026 season has been announced as part of the Ballon d'Or awards. The Spanish coaching school has dominated, with four Spanish managers making the list, while the absence of German coach Hansi Flick was a surprising omission. The contenders include Luis Enrique, who won the award in 2025 and led Paris Saint-Germain to their second consecutive Champions League title; Luis de La Fuente, who guided the Spanish national team to win the 2026 World Cup; Mikel Arteta, who brought Arsenal back to the top of English football; Unai Emery, who secured the Europa League title with Aston Villa and gained extensive European experience; and Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich's manager, who captured both the German league title and the domestic cup. The evaluation covers the coaches' performances from August 2025 to July 2026. There has been some criticism regarding Flick's absence, despite him previously ranking second. Voting is conducted by international journalists, and the results will be announced in London on October 26, 2026.
