Kylian Mbappé, the striker for Real Madrid and the captain of the French national team, is playing a starring role in his potential nomination for the Ballon d'Or award following his outstanding performance at the World Cup this summer in North America. He scored 10 goals, bringing his total to 22 goals in the tournament, making him one of the top contenders despite not having won the award before. Mbappé emphasized that his association with Real Madrid naturally links him to individual and team honors, and that what he achieved in the World Cup is a historic accomplishment. He also clarified that his team has not yet won major titles and that he continues to work on improving his performance. Although he sometimes faces criticism regarding his contributions to the team, he insists that he plays important roles and aims to combine scoring with winning titles. Mbappé rejected his coach Mourinho’s debate about the importance of teamwork versus scoring, reaffirming his desire to strike a balance between scoring goals and winning trophies.
