Queiroz and Ghana part after second term
The Ghana Football Association announced the departure of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz from his position as the head coach of the Ghana national team, following two defeats in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations against Ivory Coast and Gambia. The team currently sits at the bottom of Group Three with no points, with the defense heavily scrutinized after conceding six goals. The decision was made after amicable discussions, and Queiroz acknowledged that the recent results and team performance led to the termination of his contract, despite his efforts and taking responsibility for the team’s performance. Ghana is still in search of a new coach, as the losses at the start of the qualifiers have left the team without a coach ahead of the upcoming matches.
