UEFA Match Halted by Palestine Flag Tennis Balls
The Ireland vs. Austria match in the UEFA Nations League was halted after protesters threw tennis balls bearing Palestinian flags onto the field in protest of the Irish national team's decision to play against Israel. This incident occurs amid widespread European criticism of the Israeli war in Gaza, with Irish fans calling for a boycott of their team’s matches against Israel. This protest follows increased Palestinian and Irish demands to suspend Israel's participation in European competitions, despite the European Union's decision in July to resume matches normally.
