Ronaldo's remark sparks Portugal debate
Cristiano Ronaldo's lengthy statement about his disagreement with Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus has sparked widespread controversy in the country. In it, he revealed details of the crisis stemming from his absence in the match against Norway and announced that Jesus did not clarify the issue to the media as had been agreed. Although he reaffirmed that he is not considering retirement and that the door for a return remains open, the reactions were mostly negative, with many describing the statement as unrealistic and criticizing it as an act of arrogance. Public opinion suggests that Ronaldo's future with the Portuguese national team is threatened, especially with waning support at a time when the team is the main loser in this crisis. Questions are also being raised about whether he will be recalled for the upcoming matches in November.
