Richardson Not Included in Cycling World Cup
The British Cycling Federation announced the exclusion of Matthew Richardson from participating in the Track World Championships scheduled to take place in Shanghai from October 14 to 18, 2026, without providing clear reasons. According to The Times, his exclusion comes amid an investigation related to "potential discriminatory risks in his posts and alleged behaviors," although this has not been confirmed by relevant authorities. Richardson had previously sustained an injury during a race in Japan and experienced a shift in his athletic allegiance from Australia to Britain after winning two medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
