Rwanda Reinstates F1 Races in Africa
The Formula 1 Championship announced that Africa will return to the racing calendar for the first time since 1993, after Rwanda signed a ten-year agreement to host a Formula 1 race starting in the early 2030s. The championship's president, Stefano Domenicali, described this announcement as a historic moment for the sport, as races will be held on every inhabited continent, bringing it closer to global audiences. Rwanda also revealed plans to build a world-class circuit near a new international airport in Bugesera, which is expected to be completed in the early part of the next decade, aiming to strengthen Africa's presence in Formula 1 racing.
