Martinez Maintains Criticism of Man United
Lisandro Martinez, Manchester United defender, defended his criticisms of the club's management following the 0-2 defeat to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, emphasizing that his comments aim to push the club back towards competing for major titles. He admitted that feelings of anger and frustration overwhelmed him after the match, and that he has called for increased investments in the squad and a change in transfer policies, but insisted he would not back down from his stance. He affirmed that the players bear responsibility for the results and believes in the importance of teamwork with the coach and the club to restore the team's prestige, especially amid a run of five consecutive games without a win, amid pressure from the club's management on coach Michael Carrick. Manchester United's management has not issued any official comments regarding Martinez's statements, with the club's administration continuing to support Director of Football Jadon Wilcox.
