Tennis players awarded 350 million dollars
The Professional Tennis Players Association has announced a sweeping reform plan aimed at increasing the total player prize money to $350 million by 2028. The adjustments include raising the prize fund in the men's tour from $21.5 million to $50 million, allocating $25 million to the top 250 players in the season's final rankings, and providing $30 million annually for retirement programs that include 300 players. These reforms come as part of an effort to improve players' conditions, especially in response to longstanding criticisms over the lengthy season—which lasts 11 months—the high costs, physical demands, and the union's push to enhance the sport's prominence while meeting players' demands for a larger share of the revenues.
