Maryam Al Shamsi on UAE Karate Representation
Maryam Rashid Al Shamsi, a member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Karate Federation, participated in the first meeting of the Women's Sports Committee at the International Federation, held in Poland on the sidelines of the World Karate Championships for Juniors and Youth. The meeting discussed developing strategies to empower women in karate at the international level, along with approving programs to support women's participation as athletes, coaches, referees, and administrators. Al Shamsi emphasized that representing the UAE reflects both a national responsibility and pride, and that efforts are underway to strengthen women's presence in decision-making in global sports, in line with the country's goals to develop national competencies and their representation in international organizations.
