AlMehiri Sees Olympic Medal as Achievable for UAE Equestrianism
Emirati rider Abdullah Al Mehairi, who won two silver medals in show jumping at the Asian Games, stated that achieving an Olympic medal is a realistic goal he aspires to accomplish in the future. He explained that success in this sport heavily depends on the understanding between the rider and the horse, and that continuously enhancing this understanding and preparing the horse are essential for competing for Olympic medals. He noted that his two Asian medals have boosted his confidence in his young horse's abilities, and that ongoing efforts to develop the horse's skills and strengthen their partnership are the way to secure an Olympic medal, whether in individual or team events. He also emphasized that technical and organizational challenges, including the disparity in skill levels between professionals and amateurs, must be addressed to improve chances of winning in the future.
