Gomez: Facing Al-Ahli with Al-Fateh spirit
Portuguese coach José Gomes, the head coach of Al-Khaleej, expected that his team will face a tough match against Al-Ahli in Round 11 of the Saudi Pro League, emphasizing the importance of securing a victory. He pointed out that Al-Ahli is a major team with talented players, making the encounter a significant challenge. Gomes recounted his team's victory over Al-Fateh despite being two goals down, reaffirming the need to maintain fighting spirit and ambition to win. He also stated that his team is suffering from numerical shortages, but Al-Ahli is facing the same issue, and that both defensive and offensive strategies must be strong and intelligent to overcome Al-Ahli's formidable lineup. He commented on the strength of the Saudi Pro League, which has significantly developed over the past ten years, despite the fact that running levels may be lower than European leagues like England's due to the hot climate.
