Ronaldo Faces Penalty Shootout Woes
A report confirms that Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al Nassr Saudi Club, missed a penalty in a match against the Neom team, which could have put him on the path to achieving his continental goal of reaching 1,000 career goals. This was his 37th missed penalty in his professional career, leaving his tally at 981 goals and marking a mix of success and missed opportunities in his monthly record. Nevertheless, Ronaldo remains one of the players who have missed the most penalties since the turn of the century, surpassing Lionel Messi, though he maintains a good success rate of over 83% of his goals scored from penalties. He was unable to capitalize on a chance that would have brought him closer to his historic milestone, resulting in his team’s failure to advance in the match, which ended with Al Nassr’s victory.
