Video footage captured fans chanting against Omar Al-Somah, an Al-Wahda player, during his team’s match against Al-Karamah in the Syrian Premier League. Supporters chanted, “Al-Somah, go home.” According to the report, the chants were prompted by Al-Somah’s shifting stance toward former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, with some fans calling him a “shabiha” (pro-regime thug). Al-Wahda lost 3–0, with Al-Somah in the starting lineup.
