Villa sues Carragher
Aston Villa announced that it would take legal action against pundit Jamie Carragher, accusing him of directing unacceptable insults at the team and its supporters, without explaining the legal grounds for doing so. The dispute escalated after Carragher told Villa fans to “shut up” and said Aston Villa would never be Manchester United, while discussing the possibility of manager Unai Emery taking charge of United. Carragher later said his comments were meant as a joke, stressing his respect for Emery and the club and describing the Spanish manager as one of the best in the Premier League.
