The Tenerife–Andorra match in Spain’s second division was stopped on Monday with the score at 2–2, after Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel suffered a head injury in a collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono in the seventh minute of stoppage time. De Miguel lost consciousness and was taken to hospital for emergency tests. Spanish media reported that he had regained consciousness. Owono was shown a straight red card. After consulting the referee, both teams decided not to resume the match, citing the seriousness of the player’s condition, the lack of improvement and the players’ inability to continue.
