Bruno Fernandes, captain of Manchester United, stated that Roy Keane misinterpreted his remarks regarding his preference for personal glory over the team's interests, after being accused of constantly placing himself at the center of events. Fernandes set a record for most assists in a single Premier League season, with 21, equaling the records of Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. Keane responded to the criticism, describing Fernandes as someone who prioritizes his own interests, while Fernandes confirmed that Keane attributed statements to him that he did not make. He also reached out to a former coach to clarify the misunderstanding, emphasizing his great respect for Roy Keane.
