FIFA legal case in the US over World Cup tickets
The authorities in New York and New Jersey have launched an official investigation into allegations that FIFA exploited fans by charging extremely high prices for the 2026 World Cup tickets. The investigations focus on ticket sales and distribution practices, examining their transparency and whether they comply with consumer protection laws. This move comes after reports accused FIFA of misleading the public about ticket prices and of significantly inflating them, raising concerns about possible manipulations that may have led fans to purchase tickets at prices exceeding official values. FIFA has not issued any comments regarding the ongoing investigation so far.
