France hosts matches after Spanish ban
The Democratic Republic of Congo's national team was unable to play their final warm-up match against Chile in Spain due to concerns over the Ebola outbreak. The city of La Línia de la Concepció cancelled the event out of public health fears. This decision comes amid a wider spread of the virus, which has claimed dozens of lives and resulted in over 500 confirmed cases in the region, prompting the World Health Organization to declare a global health emergency. Despite this, the team continued their preparations in Europe, training in Marbella and preparing for their first World Cup appearance since 1974.
