A report has revealed that Somali referee Omar Artan, who was a candidate to officiate matches at the 2026 World Cup in Mexico and Canada, will not be allowed to oversee matches outside the United States after being denied a visa to enter the country. The newspaper "RMC" stated that all selected referees are training and residing in Miami throughout the tournament, which complicates Artan's situation. He has expressed his frustration, stating that it has been his dream to participate in the World Cup, and he claims he has all the necessary documents. He also accuses the American authorities of having an issue with his country.
