The Fourth Criminal Court in Damascus issued a death sentence against the defendant, Abdul Nasser Baraki, due to his proven involvement in serious crimes during the previous regime, including enforced disappearance, deprivation of liberty, involvement in premeditated murder, torture leading to death, criminal slander, and involvement in armed robbery. The court confirmed that these charges have resulted in the arrest and detention of many citizens, with the fate of some still unknown. Baraki denied the accusations and requested acquittal. Today’s trial concluded with the final verdict of death. These measures are part of the state's efforts to hold responsible those responsible for serious violations and to put an end to impunity.
