Syrian activist Hassan Emad al-Din Aqad announced that he has been placed on a wanted list again by the Criminal Security Branch following a court case filed against him by the Hama Governorate, accusing him of "extortion." Despite not receiving any official notice or prior warning, he discovered that there was an active search against him after obtaining a record of his criminal history, which showed that the notice was issued and broadcasted on August 4, 2026. Aqad considered this action a violation of Circular No. 26 issued by the Syrian Ministry of Justice, which specifies that broadcasts of wanted persons are only permitted in cases involving serious crimes and urgent situations. He confirmed that he does not intend to surrender voluntarily and fears unlawful detention, but is prepared to face any official raid.
