The article focused on the case of Syrian student Ruaa Mahmoud Sheikh Muhammad, who achieved an average of 99.25% in the Unified Yemen High School Examination for the year 2025-2026. Despite her outstanding performance, she did not appear on the official list of top students, which sparked widespread controversy over the criteria used for inclusion and the application of the principle of equal opportunities. The Yemeni Ministry of Education has not issued an official explanation regarding her exclusion so far, amid official and popular demands to review the procedures and ensure justice for the student. Ruaa expressed pride in her achievement, affirming that "excellence has no nationality." Official sources and media outlets have contacted officials, who denied any discrimination based on nationality, while everyone is awaiting the review results by the designated committee handling complaints to reach a final decision.
