UAE's Arwad to develop 4M sqm city west of Damascus
The Syrian Sovereign Fund has signed a contract with Arad Group, one of the leading UAE real estate development companies, to develop an integrated city spanning approximately 4 million square meters west of Damascus, with an estimated value of around $7 billion. Arad is a private company founded in 2017 in Sharjah, and since then, it has launched 11 projects within the UAE, with real estate sales exceeding 17.3 billion dirhams in 2025, and more than 5,000 units sold in just one year. It is anticipated that this project in Damascus will be one of the largest real estate development projects in Syria in recent times, planned to be a comprehensive development rather than just an isolated residential complex.
