The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) canceled the circular issued in 2024, which contained a list of 24,511 Syrian passports reported as stolen. This followed an investigation based on efforts by INTERPOL's Damascus branch and the International Cooperation Department, which confirmed that the circular was inaccurate and based on incorrect information. The previous circular had led to arrests and disruptions in the movement of holders of those passports in some countries, but its cancellation aims to correct the situation and facilitate the travel of their owners.
