French Republican candidate Bruno Retailleau announced that he intends to ban the wearing of the hijab in universities, sporting events, and school trips if he wins the French presidency in 2027. He also promised to dissolve organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and to reduce immigration, along with supporting a constitutional amendment to affirm France's Jewish-Christian roots.
