According to Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, continued Houthi attacks on Saudi territory could lead to the activation of the Mecca Treaty for Collective Defense, which was signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey last August. The agreement stipulates that any aggression against one of the three countries is considered aggression against all, and they are committed to its provisions. The statements came after Houthi attacks targeted Saudi cities and resulted in 71 injuries. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned these attacks, describing them as cowardly acts. The minister also emphasized that ongoing conflict and its escalation within Saudi lands could activate the obligations outlined in the joint military agreement.
