Germany farm fire kills about 100 calves
A large fire broke out from Thursday night into Friday at a farm in the Henstedt-Ulzburg area in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany. The blaze resulted in the death of around 100 calves and destroyed the barn and the adjacent house, both with thatched roofs. Two people were rescued from the building, and three others were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation, with minor injuries. The causes of the fire remain unknown, and preliminary damages are estimated to be in the millions of euros. Investigations are ongoing to determine the source.
