A report on the Jordan News Agency (Petra) website about thwarting an attempt by around 14 armed men to infiltrate Jordan from Syria has disappeared. The Jordanian account said a clash had taken place and the group had suffered losses. By contrast, a Syrian account circulating online said the shooting occurred inside Syrian territory, near children, who were moved to a safe place, with no casualties reported. No official clarification has been issued to explain the report’s disappearance or resolve the conflicting accounts, amid recent tensions in relations between the two countries.
