A waterspout struck the villages of al-Samaka and al-Hawra in the Tartus countryside, causing extensive damage to greenhouses, including tearing off their plastic coverings and metal frames and destroying crops. The agricultural extension unit in Deir Habash carried out an initial inspection to prepare a report and submit it to the relevant authorities for consideration of compensation. No final estimate of the losses or number of damaged greenhouses has been announced.
