Today, the basic education and Shariah preparatory examinations for 2026 commenced in Syria, with over 464,000 students participating across 2,053 exam centers in various governorates. The exams were accompanied by strict security and organizational measures to ensure their smooth conduct, including the opening of a hall inside Homs Prison for detained students. Despite government efforts, some students in the Suwayda Governorate faced difficulties reaching their exam centers due to the imposition of monetary charges and restrictions on movement.
