Syrian cement industry draws investments
The Syrian cement sector has seen an increase in investments, with more than 10 regional and local companies entering to invest in the Muslimiya factories in Aleppo and the Nahr-Dran plant in Rural Damascus, aiming to boost production and rehabilitate the shut-down facilities. This step comes within the framework of the government's efforts to strengthen the industry and support the reconstruction process, amid rising energy prices and production costs that have impacted the market. There remains a significant gap between local production and demand, estimated at around five million tons annually.
