Sari Makhlouf’s Arrest Reopens Coastal Cases
The Syrian Ministry of Interior has managed to capture Sari Moayad Makhlouf, who is suspected of participating in the Biadah massacre in 2013, one of the bloodiest events in Syria's history during the revolution. His arrest is considered an important step in uncovering details of the committed crimes, as he is being questioned about his role in the massacre, as well as his connections to an international smuggling network and his links to pro-regime militias. It is worth noting that the massacre resulted in hundreds of deaths, and the violence in Biadah and Ras al-Nab’a is known as some of the most brutal episodes of mass killing in Syrian history.
