Detention of Assad Special Forces Official
The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of Ghassan Assaf, the director of Suhail al-Hassan's office. Al-Hassan is the commander of the special forces in the former regime and is involved in massacres in the city of Rural Aleppo and in sabotage operations following the regime's fall, including the recruitment of terrorist cells and bombings targeting security forces. Suhail al-Hassan is considered one of the most prominent figures supporting the ousted regime, and reports accuse him of attempting to incite security chaos in the country after Bashar al-Assad's fall.
