Lenovo unveiled a prototype of a ThinkBook series laptop named codenamed Project Swan during MWC 2025. It features a horizontally expandible screen utilizing a developed rail and frame technology, aiming to deliver a design beyond the traditional form. The computer is intended for business and productivity use, running Windows 11, with a ThinkBook logo on the touchpad below the keyboard. Despite the Copilot icon appearing on the taskbar, its dedicated button does not appear on the keyboard. The design relies on a flexible, extendable screen mechanism powered by motors, with a shorter, more centralized hinge compared to traditional ThinkBook models, aligning with the horizontal expansion technology. This development reflects Lenovo’s investment in foldable or extendable-screen computers, even though the market still faces challenges in mainstream adoption of this technology, especially compared to the more dynamic foldable smartphone market.
