Xiaomi to launch HyperOS 4 beta for select phones
Xiaomi has launched the second beta version of HyperOS 4, built on Android 17, which comes with significant improvements in performance and interface design. The update focuses on making the user experience smoother through the Soft Light Glass design, enhancing transparency and visual effects, as well as increasing interface responsiveness by up to 17.5% and reducing frame drop instances by 28.9%. New functions have been added to the HyperIsland feature, and the capabilities of the MiMo AI platform have been expanded to include tools for creating charts, summarizing texts, and converting audio recordings into text. Additionally, previous issues such as battery drain and gesture delay have been addressed. The rollout will proceed in several phases, targeting devices including Xiaomi 17, Redmi K90, and the Xiaomi Pad 8 series, with plans to expand further in September to cover more devices. Users are advised to back up their data before updating. This update indicates an overall improvement in user experience with increased reliance on AI, aiming to enhance device performance and support more advanced features.
