WhatsApp explores new status feature
WhatsApp has launched a new feature test based on Meta AI technologies that allows horizontal and square images to be converted into a 9:16 vertical format without the need for manual cropping. The feature uses AI to fill in missing parts of the images, making them more suitable for display on vertical screens and reducing the loss of important elements. Currently available in the in-app photo editor, the feature can be used before sending or sharing images in the status. It will be expanded later for use in chats once testing and development are complete.
