Google Launches Gemini Agent for Organizations
During the Gemini at Work 2026 event, Google announced the introduction of a new tool called Gemini Agent. This unified artificial intelligence agent is specifically designed for the workplace, aiming to execute tasks independently based on goals set by the user rather than detailed instructions. Gemini Agent can handle complex tasks, organize meetings, manage emails, create content, and write code, in addition to coordinating various applications and services. The agent relies on multiple AI models and operates through a cloud that includes session memory, semantic memory, procedural memory, and episodic memory. It can be easily invoked via Google Workspace applications and integrates through APIs. Currently, it is in a private preview phase, with plans to expand its availability to more users in the future. Google's goal with this tool is to make intelligent agents a key part of the future work environment, capable of understanding objectives and executing tasks in a nearly autonomous manner.
