The Tunisian Association of Private Biologists announced the suspension of the "ABC I" system and the approved payment method with the National Health Insurance Fund starting from July 13, 2026, due to the accumulation of overdue payments exceeding seven months. Patients will be required to pay for their tests directly and then be reimbursed by the fund, in order to ensure the continued operation of laboratories amid the financial crisis. The association also called on the authorities to settle the outstanding dues promptly. Negotiations are ongoing with the relevant parties to resume the system after the summer holidays if an agreement can be reached.
