The Iranian ambassador in Tunisia reported that over 100 countries participated in the funeral procession of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, and it is expected that the number of Iranian mourners will exceed 20 million. The ceremonies began in Tehran and will conclude in Mashhad, where his body will be laid to rest with his family. Around two million Iraqis expressed their desire to participate by entering Iran. The ambassador confirmed that the widespread international participation reflects Iran's acceptance on the global stage, with expectations of attendance by international leaders and his body being transported to Iraq on a cortège passing through Kadhimiya, Najaf, and Karbala.
