Kairouan Implements 63 Breast Cancer Activities
The Kairouan Governorate launched the "Pink October" activities to raise awareness and promote early detection of breast cancer. An open day was organized at the regional headquarters of the National Office for Family and Population. The program includes 63 activities across various districts of the governorate, aiming to enhance awareness and improve access to early screening services. The population of women in the area is approximately 300,000, with 140 to 150 new cases of breast cancer recorded annually. The initiative emphasizes encouraging women to be attentive to any changes in their breasts and to seek medical examinations if they notice anything unusual. The goal of this campaign is to foster a culture of early detection and reduce mortality rates through increased awareness and early health follow-up.
