Official sources expect that the municipal elections in Tunisia may take place in 2027, coinciding with the parliamentary elections, although Decree No. 4 of 2026 does not specify an official date for the municipal elections. The Independent High Authority for Elections confirms its logistical and organizational readiness to conduct the elections as soon as the presidential order is issued and voters are summoned, with the possibility of holding them at the beginning of 2027 to allow enough time for preparations. It is believed that the municipal elections will be held early in the year before the parliamentary elections, which are expected to be organized in the last third of 2027, due to the nature of the electoral system and to provide sufficient time for preparation and implementation.
