Kairouan Confiscates 17,000 Ecstasy and Erykah Pills
Authorities in Kairouan have seized approximately 17,000 pills of ecstasy (pregabalin) and erika. This follows the interception of a truck carrying 8,000 tablets of Lyrica and the discovery of an attempt to smuggle 8,599 pills of pregabalin at the Ras Jedir border crossing. Three individuals were arrested, including the head of the trafficking network, and sums of money suspected to be proceeds from smuggling were confiscated, along with two trucks. These operations highlight the security efforts to combat drug trafficking and apprehend smugglers.
