Luay Al-Shabi: Unaware of father's health
The family of Tunisian opposition figure Ahmed Naguib Al-Shabi has reported that they have not received any official contact regarding his health status since he began a hunger strike on October 1, 2026, in protest against restrictions on access to media for those detained in the "conspiracy against state security" case. The family remains uncertain about his whereabouts, whether in prison or hospitalized. Although their scheduled visit this Wednesday is approaching, his health condition and current state remain officially unknown. His hunger strike is an expression of protest against detention conditions and the restrictions on information imposed on political prisoners, with concerns growing about the potential health repercussions for Al-Shabi.
