Engineers' Deanery Pushes for 2027-2030 Electrical Security Plan
The Tunisian Engineering Order called for the adoption of a national plan for electrical security covering the period 2027-2030. This plan includes clear governance and coordination mechanisms between gas, electricity, and renewable energy systems, with the aim of ensuring continuous supply and strengthening capacity to handle peak periods. It proposes independent audits of production capacity, launching urgent programs to recover lost megawatts, accelerating renewable energy projects, and improving the grid. Additionally, it recommends organizing awareness campaigns to promote electricity conservation during peak hours, encouraging self-generation of solar energy, and using energy-efficient equipment, along with establishing contingency plans for delayed projects. The initiative seeks to secure energy supplies and enhance energy efficiency in Tunisia.
