Tunisia Court Backs Journalism Group
The Primary Court in Tunisia ruled not to dissolve the "Al-Khatt" Association, which supports independent journalism and freedom of expression, following a lengthy legal process that involved engagement with government authorities and the correction of its legal status. Despite the ruling, the association still faces financial difficulties, as a banking entity prevents it from accessing some of its resources for unclear reasons, which hampers its activities and burdens its obligations. The association affirms its commitment to continue supporting journalism and freedom of expression, while expressing solidarity with those facing similar challenges. It also calls for the protection of civil society and journalists' rights.
