NYC Mayor urges end to US support for Israel on Gaza anniversary
The third anniversary of the Gaza war was commemorated, during which New York City Mayor Eric Adams called for an end to U.S. support for Israel, deeming Washington complicit in the tensions by supplying Tel Aviv with weapons. He pointed out that this aid has contributed to the ongoing acts of genocide, which have resulted in the deaths of over 74,000 Palestinians since the war began in October 2023, including more than 21,000 children. Despite the ceasefire in October 2025, the attacks have continued. Adams called for a struggle toward a world where everyone can live freely and with dignity. His stance drew official criticism, which regarded it as an ethical failure. The mayor’s comments come as the United States has provided massive military aid to Israel exceeding $25.5 billion, including American-made weapons and military equipment, which human rights organizations have documented as being used in attacks that caused civilian injuries and fatalities in Gaza.
