Capital Market Authority sues over leaked financial data
The Financial Market Authority in Tunisia has filed a criminal complaint after financial statements of a listed company were leaked onto the social media page "InfoBourse TN" before the completion of official regulatory procedures and their publication through authorized channels. The company in question clarified that the financial statements were submitted to shareholders prior to the general assembly meeting, but they are unaware of who released them unofficially. The Authority confirmed that this constitutes a criminal offense under financial law, prompting it to refer the matter to the public prosecutor for investigation and accountability. The Authority emphasized the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of financial information until its official release in order to ensure market transparency and the credibility of information accessible to investors.
